Each rape kit represents a person. This could be your sister, niece, daughter or wife, a grandparent, your boyfriend, brother or childhood friend. This could be your story.
Natasha’s Justice Project (NJP) was founded in 2011, with Natasha serving as spokesperson. NJP is working to end the backlog for good. We work through research, public education, and media outreach. We also offer travel grants so that survivors can be present at their attackers’ trials.
Natasha’s story can be found on Joyful Heart Foundation’s Backlog Blog. Her story is also featured in an HBO documentary by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Lisa Jackson. To learn more about this compelling documentary and Natasha, please visit www.sexcrimesunit.com.
